craig2Craig has been a musician for 40 years playing trumpet for the Campbelltown Camden District Band. In 2010, Craig was introduced to African drumming by Simon Fraser at the AMAC conference in Melbourne. Since then Craig has attended teacher training workshops led by Simon in Sydney in 2010 and Melbourne in 2013, and an intensive teaching workshops with Jeremy Prentice in Melbourne in 2011. In January 2013 Craig spent 2 weeks in Ghana, living with and learning from the Master Drummers in Nungua, from the internationally renowned performance group Salaka.

Craig is a trained facilitator having completed a Certificate IV - Training & Assessment in 2014.

Craig has had 20 years experience in the Corporate field working for both BHP and CSC Australia and knows first hand, how important it is for teams to be focused on a common goal and yet be able to work independently. 

Craig feels that African drumming is the perfect medium to engage each and every person and to create an event that is unforgettable.

kathKath has been a musician for 38 years and is the Director of Dynamic Rhythms Music Centre in Narellan NSW, and teaches flute, keyboard and Early childhood music programs. Kath has also spent 32 years playing as flautist with the Campbelltown Camden District band and has also been involved in many local theatre orchestras for various productions. 

Kath also attended African Drumming teacher training workshops, led by Simon Fraser and Jeremy Prentice and also spent 2 weeks in Ghana training with the Master drummers and soaking up the atmosphere and culture of this region..

Kath is a trained facilitator having completed a Post Graduate Degree in Adult Education at the University of Sydney. Kath also actively practices yoga and meditation and understands how African Drumming is a perfect medium for assisting in stress release and mindfulness, therefore promoting a sense of wellbeing in all participants.

Laura is a multi-talented teacher and teaches Early Childhood programs, flute, clarinet and keyboard at Dynamic Rhythms Music Centre. Laura is highly qualified with a Bachelor of Music and a Bachelor of Education at UNSW. Laura has also completed her Masters in Music Therapy at UWS in 2013.

Laura regularly works in challenging environments with physically and mentally handicapped patients assisting them to experience music through the use of various percussion instruments. Laura has worked with patients in both the Westmead and Sydney Children’s hospitals assisting the medical teams with the use of music therapy to bring smiles to the faces of sick children.

Laura has a great gift for enriching the lives of others less fortunate through music.

alexAlex is a young and very talented musician, proficient in drums, guitar, bass guitar, keyboard and trumpet. Alex has been teaching the drum kit for Dynamic Rhythms Music Centre for the passed 3 years.

Alex has taken to African drumming like a fish to water. His ability to perform complicated rhythms and techniques is amazing and he is a very valuable member of our team. Alex has an important role as our Dun dun player. These are bass drums and set the tempo of the music.

Alex has also been tutored by Jeremy Prentice in Melbourne and Simon Rigby in Sydney, and plays a Ghana djembe that he made by himself.
